Domain, hosting, code and data — in your name, in writing

Geran Digital PMKS MADANI · digital marketing

The grant pays half. Make sure you own what it buys.

The SME digital grant covers 50% of your digitalisation cost, up to RM5,000. We prepare the quotation and documents your claim needs. What makes us different is what you hold at the end of it: the domain, the hosting, the code, the accounts. All in your name, written down before we start.

Officially the Geran Digital PMKS MADANI, coordinated by MDEC and administered through BSN. A matching subsidy, not a loan — nothing to repay, and the money comes off the invoice rather than into your account.

A grant-funded website you do not own is not an asset.

Here is what we see. An SME claims the grant, an agency builds the site, and two years later the owner wants to move. Then it turns out the domain is registered to the agency, the hosting account is in the agency’s name, the code sits in a repository nobody outside the agency can see, and the Google Ads account belongs to the agency too.

Nothing illegal happened. It is just how the work was set up, and nobody wrote down who owns what. The grant paid for something the business cannot take with it.

We do it the other way round. Before any build starts, we produce a written ownership and access map covering eight control points, and every one is registered in your name. You can cancel any month and walk away with the whole thing.

Eight control points, all in your name

01DomainRegistered to your company at the registrar, with you as the admin contact.
02DNSYour account, your records. We get delegated access, not ownership.
03HostingBilled to you. If we disappear tomorrow, the site keeps running.
04Code repositoryYour organisation owns the repo. Full history, not a zip file at the end.
05DatabaseYours, with an export you can actually restore somewhere else.
06DeploymentThe pipeline and its secrets live in your accounts.
07BackupsVerified restores, not just scheduled jobs. You hold the destination.
08Third-party accountsAnalytics, ads, payment gateway, email. Created under your identity.

This map is produced in writing at the start of every engagement and updated whenever something changes. Ask any agency you are considering for the same document.

What RM14,000 buys

A package priced past the RM5,000 cap.

The grant caps at RM5,000 per company. This package — an Ownership & Access Review, a Starter Website and a year of Care — totals RM14,000, comfortably past RM10,000, the point at which a 50% match first reaches that cap. So the claim reaches the full RM5,000 with no doubt about it, and you pay the remaining RM9,000. It can be reweighted — more build, less care, or the other way — as long as the total still clears the cap.

All prices exclude SST, billed separately — we have not confirmed with MDEC or BSN how the grant treats it. The grant is a 50% match on the project value up to RM5,000 per company. Pay your share only after the claim is approved — paying early can void it.

Eligibility

Four things decide it.

At least 60% of the equity is held by Malaysian citizens.
Registered with SSM, a local authority, or the relevant cooperative body.
Trading for six months or more, with a real sales record behind it.
You have not already claimed an earlier digitalisation matching grant. E-invoicing is the usual exception.

Final approval sits with BSN and MDEC, not with us. If we think you will not pass, we will say so before you spend time on the paperwork.

How the claim runs

Six steps, most of them ours.

01You tell us what you needA form or a WhatsApp message. We check the four eligibility points with you.
02We scope and quoteA fixed-price quotation sized to claim the full RM5,000, with the ownership map attached.
03You apply on the portalWe pre-fill what we can and tell you exactly which documents to upload: SSM profile, director NRIC, bank statements.
04Approval comes backUsually a few working days. We watch it and chase if it stalls.
05You pay your shareWithin fourteen days of approval, and not a day before it. The grant covers the rest, up to the cap.
06Work startsOwnership map first, then the build. You can see the state of every control point at any time.

Check whether you qualify.

Nine questions, about two minutes. We reply within one Malaysian business day with a plain yes or no on eligibility, and a scoped quotation if it is a yes.

Your business

Your claim

Have you claimed a digitalisation grant before?

A previous matching grant usually blocks a new claim, so an honest answer here saves you a rejection. “Not sure” is fine — we will check with you.

What would you put the grant towards?

We store this to reply to you and nothing else. No list, no sequence, one reply from a person.

Questions we actually get

Is the grant still open?

It has run continuously under several names and is open at the time of writing. Each year's pool is finite and claimed first-come, so the risk is timing rather than the scheme disappearing. We will tell you the current position when you ask.

Can it really pay for marketing?

Yes. Digital marketing and e-commerce are eligible digitalisation areas, which covers a website, SEO and paid advertising setup. The condition is that the work is delivered and invoiced by an approved Digitalisation Partner.

Do I get the money?

No, and that is the point. It comes off our invoice. You pay your share, the grant pays the rest, up to the cap. Nothing lands in your account and there is nothing to repay.

What if my project costs less than the breakeven point?

Then the grant covers half of your actual project cost. A RM6,000 project claims RM3,000. Once a project reaches RM10,000, half of it is already the full RM5,000 cap — anything spent beyond that point is not matched further.

What happens if I want to leave?

You take everything, because everything is already yours. Cancel any month. We hand over the access map, remove our access, and confirm in writing that we no longer hold anything of yours.
