When should I inform my agency that I am terminating our contract?
Never announce termination before you have secured administrative access to your domain registrar, DNS records, and a fresh database backup. Once a hostile agency knows they are being dismissed, cooperation typically stops and key credentials may be altered. We help you quietly secure these assets first.
What if the developer refuses to hand over the source code or admin logins?
If you control the domain and DNS, we can point your traffic to a freshly recovered instance. If you have server or cPanel access, our engineers can reset wp-admin and database passwords directly from the command line. If the domain itself is held hostage, we guide you through the MYNIC dispute process or ICANN transfer dispute procedures.
Does Malaysian law protect my ownership of custom website code?
Under Section 26 of the Malaysian Copyright Act 1987, when work is commissioned and fully paid for, equitable ownership of the deliverables vests in the commissioner unless the contract explicitly states otherwise. Your paid invoices serve as critical legal evidence of ownership.
How long does a full agency handover take?
When the agency is moderately cooperative, the technical extraction takes 3 to 5 business days. If the agency is unresponsive or hostile, recovering control via hosting providers, MYNIC, and registrars usually requires 7 to 14 business days.
