How to Recover a MYNIC Domain When the Registrant Email is Inaccessible

6 min readBy JagaWeb Security Team

Submitting Form 9/13/Section 14 company SSM registration to MYNIC for account reassignment.

Losing access to the email address registered with MYNIC means you cannot renew your .my domain or update nameservers. If the domain expires, your entire business goes offline. Fortunately, MYNIC has a formal recovery process for corporate entities.

Preparing Corporate Documentation

MYNIC requires definitive proof that the entity requesting the change is the legal owner of the domain. You must prepare certified true copies (CTC) of your company documents:

  • SSM Form 9 (Certificate of Incorporation)
  • Section 14 (Superform detailing directors and shareholders)
  • Section 58 (If there have been changes in directors)
  • A copy of the acting Director's NRIC.

Drafting the Official Letter

You must draft an official letter on your company letterhead addressed to MYNIC. The letter must state:

  1. The domain name in question.
  2. The current inaccessible email address.
  3. The new authorized email address you wish to assign.
  4. A formal request for an Administrative and Technical contact update.

This letter MUST be signed by a Director listed in the Section 14 document and stamped with the official company chop.

Submission and Follow-up

Submit the documentation to MYNIC via their official support portal or email. Once MYNIC verifies the corporate identity against the SSM registry, they will manually update the registrant email, allowing you to trigger a password reset and regain control of your digital asset.
